About PC Balance
PC Balance is an independent PC hardware decision-support project built to make CPU and GPU pairing easier to understand without pretending that one percentage can describe every game or application.
What PC Balance is trying to solve
PC hardware comparisons often reduce a complicated workload to a single score. PC Balance instead combines component strength with resolution, workload, target FPS, RAM context, and data confidence so users can see both the likely limiting component and how certain the estimate is.
What the calculator does
- Compares CPU and GPU pairing for gaming and common PC workloads.
- Models 1080p, 1440p, and 4K behavior separately.
- Uses target FPS and RAM as optional context.
- Shows an estimate confidence and expected range.
- Suggests upgrade directions and nearby hardware options.
What it does not claim
- It is not a direct benchmark of your individual computer.
- It does not guarantee a fixed bottleneck percentage in every game.
- It does not display live retailer prices or stock.
- It does not replace motherboard, PSU, cooling, or case compatibility checks.
Independence and transparency
PC Balance is not affiliated with or endorsed by AMD, Intel, NVIDIA, Amazon, or Newegg. Product names and trademarks belong to their respective owners. Hardware data is organized for comparison and the methodology page explains how direct, derived, legacy, and provisional data are handled.
Project status
The bottleneck calculator is the first stable PC Balance tool. Future tools may include CPU comparison, GPU comparison, FPS estimation, and PSU guidance, but they will be added only when they can provide useful information rather than simply create more pages.
